Noom
Noom's web onboarding is a quiz of up to 113 screens that builds a personalized weight-loss plan. It keeps redrawing a predicted goal date as the user answers and shows 'analyzing' loaders that frame the plan as computed from their profile. It is algorithmic personalization; the teardown does not describe any of it as AI.
Notes
- Up to 113 screens and 10–15 minutes before the paywall (RevenueCat teardown by Daphne Tideman, April 2026).
- A projection chart ('We predict you'll be… by [date]') recurs through the quiz, and 'as users provide more answers, Noom moves dates forward and sharpens projections', which the teardown credits with motivating completion.
- A 10-question behavioral profile quiz (slider statements) ends in an 'Analyzing your profile…' loader and a named profile result card.
- Later loaders such as 'Analyzing demographic profile' and 'Cross-checking with user database' insert extra questions while 'processing', which makes the plan feel computed from the answers.
- Caveat for this gallery: none of the cited sources call Noom's plan generation AI. It is included as the reference pattern for data-driven personalized-plan onboarding that AI-native apps copy.
